South Carolina Honda Dealers: How To Void Your Warranty
Your car has a bumper-to-bumper Factory Warranty for the next several years or several thousand miles. This means you can do anything and everything to your car and it will be covered by that warranty, right? Wrong. As a general rule all warranties, including those covering your vehicle have certain exclusions or conditions which will void the coverage. South Carolina Honda dealers encourage all owners to know what actions will result in a warranty that is null and void.
Wrong parts/service- Ask your Honda dealer in Greenville where you can get your vehicle serviced to ensure you do not void your warranty. Some factory warranties require owners to have their vehicle serviced at certain locations as well as with certain parts. Having your vehicle serviced outside of these specifications may result in your warranty being voided.
Neglect- Do not be so concerned over where to get your vehicle serviced that you fail to keep up with routine and scheduled maintenance. Just as your home owner's insurance will not cover repairs to your house resulting from neglect, neither will your car warranty. For this reason it is very important to discuss with your Honda dealer what type of service is required and how often. Once you have that schedule in hand, stick to it!
Abuse- Otherwise known as misuse of your vehicle. Most warranties cover maintenance and repairs resulting from normal driving conditions. If you are found to be racing your car in amateur races or rock-climbing your SUV- damage will likely not be covered.
