Does a signed copy of a book up the value?
I have a copy of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, America's Toughest Sheriff. It's signed by the author but it says "To George, Best Wishes, 5-4-97 Joe Arpaio". It's also out of print. I'm listing it on ebay for $44.00. What do you think?
Unsigned copies are listed on Amazon at $28.95. A signed copy was also listed at $179.96.
I would agree that having a personal inscription would make it less valuable than an impersonal one, but I think $44.00 is reasonable.
